What is Archaeozoology

What Backgrounds Do Archaeozoologists Have?

Those who characterize themselves as archaeozoologists or as zooarchaeologists usually have formal training in archaeology, biology, paleontology, veterinary medicine, and/or zoology. They have a firm grounding in aspects of the biology of the animals that they study, as well as knowledge of the archaeology of the area and time period from which their research material comes.
