Limitations
Some forums only allow specific postings to be made. For example, the ICAZ 2006 International Conference will only allow presenters to post abstracts and papers. All ICAZ members can comment on abstracts/papers, but no papers can be posted in this section that were not registered at the conference. If you have a contribution to make, you can post it to the “General Discussions” section of BoneCommons.
WhyPost?
Conference papers are often seen as a way of sharing “works in progress” or samples of larger research programs. Posting on BoneCommons will enable potential collaborators to learn about your research program and provide valuable feedback to hone working ideas into cohesive scholarly works. Posting on BoneCommons also provides a durable public record of individual contributions to specific areas of scholarship.
How to Cite a BoneCommons Contribution
Because BoneCommons has the support of multiple, credible digital repositories, BoneCommons content is a citable resource. Here is how we recommend citing a specific paper in BoneCommons:
Doe, John (2004). A Paper about Zooarchaeology. Retrieved Month, Day, Year, from ICAZ 2006 International Conference, BoneCommons website: www.bonecommons.org.
