Mystery tooth
Subject
Hello Zooarchers, Maybe its just those Friday blues but I am having a problem with a tooth. It is single rooted like a canine or incisor but the root is partially split on one side between the lingual and labial sides. The enamel part is similar to a mandibular pig premolar in shape, but also similar to a deer canine. One side has been worn to a flattened to slightly concave shape - you can see the wear, the other is convex. The occlusal surface is a thin ridge and some dentine shows through along this line. The tooth is from an Irish multi-period site. Pictures are at bone commons - thank you in advance! Fiona
